I recently got in a shipment from Pueblawith a group of traditional blouses....
. This one was was
made in the Nahua community of Xaltepec in Puebla Mexico
. On the front the image of the
Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
has been created using
Tecnica de Bordado Hilvanado
/ Basted Embroidery Technique. And using the same technique
the artist has created an image of a Swan on the front side and a Parrot (?) on the back. This extraordinary blouse was made by a woman named
Margarita Cruz
.
It measures;
15 inches across the shoulders and 20 1/2 inches from arm pit to arm pit (total 41 inches around) and 26 inches Long.
It will fit a Small to Medium Size woman.
This Blouse is a wonderful example of
